It’s finally starting to warm up here in Boulder, and with the warm weather comes engagement sessions.  I really love these times, as it gives us a chance to get to know each other before the big day.  I recently met up with Katie & Jesse for a nice afternoon of photos & visiting.  Here’s a few photos from the day…

Below are a few photos my business cards.  We printed them on double thick cotton paper, and it literally stops people in their tracks (“Oh, did I take two?”).

First, and I guess obviously, we had a baby! Leo Micheal Powell was born on Dec. 1st. It was a amazing, intimate, intense experience that I hope you’ll all have someday. Amy was a champ through the birth and is an amazing mom. Leo has already changed my life more than I could have imagined. To put it simply, I’m so happy. We sing and dance and laugh and are content sitting and staring at each other.

To our friends and family, thank you again for your outpouring of love and support. You make our lives amazing.

Second, and more related to the biznass, last month I did a “soft launch” of my new wedding inspiration website:
ThisisMyWedding.com- Wedding inspiration celebrating togetherness. To put it more plainly, this is a website focused on people and experience rather than objects and money. It’s a side project, but I hope you get something out of it.

Third, after three years I feel like I’m finally “becoming a business”. Ha! Yeah I’ve always paid taxes and stuff, but seriously: I finally accept credit cards, last year I hired my first employee, I went to my first bridal show.

I’m finally producing work I’m really proud of and have a lot of happy past clients. And another big-boy step, now all my clients get an heirloom product. This is something I should have done two years ago. No more “our wedding photos are on a DVD in a box in the attic”. Really cool, and I have some beautiful new samples to share with you soon.  That’s it for now, thanks and rock on. ~E

Beyond that, I feel so blessed on the daily, so it’s nice to have a day dedicated to recognizing those blessings.  This year has been nothing short of amazing.  First, Amy has been everything- so supportive, a true love, my rock.  Amy, thank you.  You’re about to make me the luckiest man alive, again, with the arrival of our first child (any day now!).

Second, my family & friends have enriched my lives more than I can say.  Mom, Dad, The Potts, The McIntosh’s & Ross’s, Ron, Andrew, Josh, Adam, Janice, Tyler, The Oviatts and everyone else (too many to list), thank you.  I get to see some of you often.  Other, not so much, but trust I’m thinking of you, and I love you .

Third, I’d like to thank my clients.  Damn, you let me into your lives, and gave me your hard earned money.  More than that even, you’ve helped me live a life more fulfilled, a life closer to perfect.  Thank you.

Lastly, to the clients I’ve yet to meet, thank you for considering me for your wedding.  You have a lot of choices, and I’d like to think I’m the right guys for some of you.  As Amy and I grow our family, I may be less responsive to emails, etc. than I’d like, thank you for your patience.  I look forward to rocking your wedding.

Road trip! I drove back to my college stomping grounds for Morgan & Kent’s wedding.  Lincoln, Nebraska is beautiful this time year, and Morgan & Kent’s wedding was awesome.  This wedding was a group effort, and the whole family helped get things together.  Oh, and I drove the groom to the church (you’re welcome!) .  Here are some photos from the day…
