I recently got together again with my friends Sofo to celebrate the completion of their new album. You may recall I hit the recording studio with them recently… this time we wanted to get a few portraits with everyone together. Will flew down from Alaska for the album mastering, so the whole crew was together. Here’s a few from the day…

So, we drove into the foothills for a view of the mountains. It was a beautiful spring day, and we weren’t the only people with that idea! The shoot turned into an impromptu concert, with the guys playing a handful of songs for the onlookers. Cool.

Studio session with Sofo

No, not a photo studio, a recording studio. I had the pleasure of joining my friends Sofo at a recent recording session at Colorado Sound Studio. Really happy with these images because of the approach- pure photojournalism. One of the hard things about having a camera is it changes people- we get self conscious, or put on a fake smile. Well not these guys, not these images. I worked to be invisible, and asked nothing of them. I definitely took away some lessons that I’ll apply with my families and weddings this year…Digging the photos? Here’s a little slideshow with more…
